Introducing CoalMo, a coal bust of Scott Morrison, created to memorialise the Prime Minister’s lethal commitment to fossil fuels.
CoalMo has been popping-up ahead of the election to remind us all about the Government’s woeful record on climate change action.
CoalMo was modelled on the bonkers moment Morrison smuggled a lump of coal into parliament and proclaimed: ‘This is coal. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be scared. It won’t hurt you.’
The intervention was a collab with GetUp and was sculpted by artist Louis Pratt.
A few days before the election, CoalMo was covertly installed on Prime Ministers’ Avenue in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, alongside bronzes of Australia’s former PMs.
It wasn’t there long. Botanical Gardens staff carted CoalMo away a couple of hours later.
