Our fossil fuel addiction has left the world we love teetering on climate collapse. But who’d want to talk about climate change right now? There’s a pandemic outside!

Climate change will cause even more chaosthan Covid-19.

Five good reasons to talk about it.

Our world is heating up fast — and we’re seeing scary impacts sooner than expected. We need to act right away to protect our lives and future plans.

  1. 1.When we talk about it, we help each other understand the problem. Coronavirus has shown how strong we are when we work together.
  2. 2.Change is scary but avoiding action is disastrous. We’ll pass a point of no return in about 10 years. So, if we balls this up, our lives will be ruined whether we like it or not.
  3. 3.By 2050, some of our most populated countries will struggle to grow food. That’s within most of our lifetimes.
  1. 4.By 2050, one billion of us will be forced to flee as dangerous weather, a lack of drinking water, or rising oceans drive us from the places we call home.
  2. 5.The smartest minds alive are working on this problem. When we talk with friends and family about the solutions, it makes a safe future seem very achievable.

Why talk climate change?

Studies show we listen to our friends and family more than anyone else.
That means you have the power to shape the values of those around you. And once people start talking about climate change, they don’t stop.
Talking leaves us all more clued up on the problem and more willing to demand action. Coronavirus may be consuming 110% of our brainspace right now. But that’s no reason to stop talking about climate change.
In fact, this pandemic is a spooky preview of what lies in store.

Talk is action.
